Malaysia 101

Raymond was the best teacher.  He happily answered our questions (we had a lot of them) and pointed out things we hadn't noticed and patiently explained everything.

The seed from an oil palm.
80% of Malaysia's farmland in planted in oil palms.  The trees are profitable at 2.5 years and produce very high quality oils for cosmetics, soaps and the like.

A type of almond leaf.
These leaves are dried and used in the aquarium industry, as a water conditioner, habitat, and for its anti-bacterial properties.
